Zipz Interchangeable Shoes Review and Giveaway! Ends 12/14

I was born in sunny Florida and grew up in a little town called Geneva in the Southern part of the state where footwear is divided between boots and flip-flops. Personally, I like my feet to be as close to bare as I possible can so I've always fallen into the flip-flop category and have yet to regret it in all my 23 years.

Unfortunately this flip-flop wearing preference hasn't gone unnoticed by friends and family who unlike myself have a wide variety of tastes when it comes to footwear. Neither has it gone unnoticed by those up north when I, briefly, moved from Florida to Missouri and then, briefly, visited Indiana and Illinois.

In the winter months when everyone would be bundled up in layers with their snow boots on, I'd be all bundled up in layers with my trusty flip-flops. Can you imagine how many bizarre stares I received and how many times I was almost wheedled into trading in my flops for a pair of more "practical" shoes? Let me tell you, it was a daily occurrence. 

Now, back in Sunny-never-snows-Florida, Winter is once again upon us and I've already faced my fair share of odd looks due to, yep you guessed it, my old flops.

November has come and gone, December is upon us and I've finally given in.

Goodbye, kinda, Flops and hello Zipz Shoes!

More than anything else I was excited to get approved to do a review for Zipz Shoes because from the first time I laid eyes on them I knew they were something I wouldn't mind putting the Flip-flops to rest for. With a style much like Converse but less expensive and way more inventive, who wouldn't want to have a pair for themselves?

I was quickly given the hook-up with a pair of my very own Punk Pink Zipz Shoes and treated fantastically by their Customer Care.

After watching the mail for only a few days I was stoked when I finally received my box containing my brand-new Zipz Shoes. They were roomy, which I liked immediately and looked oh-so stylish on my usually flip flop clad feet.

The best part about Zipz Shoes is that, wait for it, they're INTERCHANGEABLE. Say you get tired of the same old routine. You can simply go online and order a new top. Once it comes all you have to do is UNZIP the bottom, via the handy-dandy zipper, and zip on the new top.

Want the perfect shoes to go with your outfit of the day? You just unzip, grab the matching top and zip back up. There are so many different styles to choose from you'll never run out of options and there's something for everyone!

Educational Toys Planet Review

I've always had the hardest time picking out toys appropriate for our Sophie's age group. I'm usually torn between toddler toys that are just "fun" or just "educational." This year I was especially focused on finding a toy that was made up of both options but let me tell you: Its a nightmare to stand in the toy department agonizing over the hundreds of choices.

Amazingly enough I was given an awesome toy to review by Educational Toys Planet that provided both factors that I had been looking for! Not only was it educational but it was fun for Sophie to play with as well. She's been so happy with the product we reviewed, its hard to imagine it was an educationally stimulating product.

The ABC Melody Maker has been an awesome toy to have in our home. Its many functions were great for Sophie, who not only loves to plunk away on the 10 note keyboard but also loves to interact with the sounds of the Alphabet as well. Many hours of her day were, amazingly enough, spent ignoring Dora on TV and interacting with her Melody maker.

The best part of the ABC Melody Maker was that its great for kids of all ages. Sophie's older cousins even spent time hiding it away from her and playing on it. I'm not ashamed to say I even played around with it a day or two myself!

Its Just Too Early

I don't understand how a child can open their eyes one minute and 2 seconds later be tearing my bedroom apart.

It seems impossible that while I'm staggering around the house 15 minutes after waking up, that she's already got all of her toys out and is loading up her toy suitcase. Where is all this energy coming from and how can I get some of it?!

Thank goodness for instant oatmeal. You just grab a packet, pour it into a bowl, bring some water to a boil on the stove, pour and wait. Absolutely no thinking necessary and you can attempt to SLOWLY wake up while you wait for it to cool.

In the meantime my child is just as busy as can be, babbling away to her pets and running throughout the house. Another thing I'm thankful for and never thought I'd be, is Dora and Boots. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be glad for all our Dora The Explorer DVDs.

Now, if only I was able to sit here and enjoy a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino I'd be the happiest Mama alive. Even if it had absolutely no caffeine to speak of.

Just In Time For Those Christmas Pictures! Melondipity Review and Giveaway ENDS 11/30

When I first found out I was pregnant with my first baby, our little Sophie Bean, I hoped and prayed for a little baby boy. Growing up with 7 brothers and only 4 sisters, I experience life more from a boys viewpoint and realized that even in my adult years I knew NOTHING about girls.

Thankfully since then, Sophie is now approaching 2, my obsession has calmed down and I content myself with the occasional cute outfit...

As a Breast Feeding Mom to an 18 month baby girl I can remember clearly the early days of leakage and soaked shirt fronts. I'd wake up in the middle of the night or in the early hours of the morning in a puddle; shirt drenched and mattress soaked.

Her adorable animated alarm clocks feature her own original 'floating second hand', a tiny little image which appears to magically rotate around the face of the clock.Pamela works in acrylics and watercolors, sometimes adding elements of collage to her work.

Recently, I was invited to review one of Pam's beautiful Night Lights. I chose the Peace design. It's made of durable acrylic, and come with a standard four watt night light bulb. Square light images are 3'' x 3''. Rectangular images are 4'' high and vary slightly in width. Gift Box Included.

The soft glow from this pretty little light is so comforting over night. Our Mikayla is no longer afraid to get up by herself at night to use the bathroom which means far fewer 'accidents' over night. I like that!

Each piece handmade in Pam's studio and is based on one her wonderful original designs. She has so many to choose from...each one more adorable than the last...I was truly hard pressed to pick a favorite. I literally tossed a coin to decide between the Peace Sign and the Dragonfly!

Pam doesn't stop at night lights, either. She creates wonderful greeting cards, magnetic bookmarks, magnets, alarm and wall clocks too. Her whimsical designs tickle me to death as does her use of color. I really can's say enough about her line. The hardest thing you'll do today is try to pick the one you like the best!

Preggie Pops Review and Giveaway

When I was pregnant with Sophie I had a moderate amount of morning sickness the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy. I guess you could even call it night sickness because truthfully I was hardly ever sick in the morning. It was rare for me to wake up feeling sick to my stomach and I only had to embrace the toilet bowl once.

I'm in week 22 of my 2nd pregnancy and my morning sickness has been a constant battle since day 1. Unlike the night sickness and occasional morning sickness I experience with Sophie, I found myself experiencing 24/7 nausea with this little girl. I've managed to catch a little break since my 17th week but still get the occasional day of sickness.

I tried everything. Ginger. Peppermint. Cinnamon. I even put aside my extreme dislike for warm beverages and tried Green Tea with Ginger. None of it worked, not even the tiniest bit! I was at the end of my rope, desperate to regain control of my life and be able to live my life again.

Thank goodness I was approved to write up a review for Preggie Pops by Three Lollies. Not only was I curious about their pops because of my pregnancy but I knew if Preggie Pops didn't work I'd be stuck with my nausea For-Ev-Er!

I was sent a box of Preggie Pops to try as well as a neat little container of Preggie Drops to try at home.

The first time I called upon these products was during one of my Mom's routine litter box cleanings; my nose has been hyper sensitive during this pregnancy and the odor from the litter box went straight to my tummy. I was absolutely miserable by the time I reached for the Preggie Drops.

I can't say I noticed the nausea disappear all at once, it did take a few minutes, but when I did finally notice my nausea had diminished I was amazed. For 17 weeks I had searched for something, anything, to help with the sickness that had taken hold of me and I had finally found it! Not necessarily an instant cure-all but it did help and from then on whenever a bout of nausea came back I turned to my Three Lollies products.

Preggie Pops come in a tasty variety of flavors including Lavender, Sour Lemon and Spearmint. Yum!

Oogave Review

I'm not going to lie, I'm a Soda fanatic. I will never turn down a glass of ice cold Cola and am guilty of frequent trips to the convenience stores to grab the biggest size fountain cup and fill it to the tippy-top.

Although Cola and I have been seeing each other for quite some time we are not exclusive; I've been seeing other Soda's, trying to break away from my unhealthy relationship and try something new. So far I've suffered one disappointment after another in my quest to find the perfect refresher due to my inability to compromise. I refuse to trade the delicious taste and crispness of my current relationship for some old run of the mill "healthy soda!"

Just as I was about to give up hope and go back to my old ways I found Oogave. I was saved!

I was sent a free VIP voucher for a 4 pack of Oogave and came home from our local Health Food store with 4 bottles of Watermelon Cream. Still skeptical that all "healthy" soda would only leave me disappointed and with a bitter after-taste, I filled a glass with ice and poured a bottle.

Talenti Gelato Review and #Giveaway ENDS 11/17!

Talenti Gelato; a little slice of heaven or frozen velvet? I'll leave it up to you to decide but first:

Recently I was given the opportunity to do a review for Talenti Gelato. During my pregnancy I have craved few things but Gelato, Gelato I have definitely craved and I confess to literally doing a happy dance when given the chance to write this review.

I must have stood in front of the frozen food section for what seemed like hours with the same confused look on my face as I contemplated the selection Talenti had to offer..There were so many delicious flavors: Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip, Banana Chocolate Swirl, Sicilian Pistachio, Carmel Cookie Crunch and the list goes on!

After a long inner debate, my cravings finally won out and I came home with a pint each of Belgian Milk Chocolate, Caribbean Coconut, Tahitian Vanilla Bean and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup.

Let me just say: OHMYGOSH!

I've tasted a lot of delicious deserts over the years but I've got to say, Talenti Gelato takes the cake!

The Belgian Chocolate was like frozen silk! It was by far the smoothest Gelato I have ever tasted.

The Caribbean Coconut was chock full of coconut goodness with a rich natural coconut taste. The texture was wonderful; creamy and oh so rich!

I love peanut butter cups and Gelato. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup gives the best of both worlds! Not too chocolately and not too peanut buttery, this Gelato was a perfect blend of the two!

Saving the best for last, The Tahitian Vanilla Bean was my absolutely favorite out of the 4 flavors I brought home that day. The vanilla flavor was perfect, not too much and not too little and the texture was perfection! Not as silky as the Belgian Chocolate but with its own smooth creamy-ness, I fell in love with this flavor..twice!

There is no doubt in my mind that the next time I head to the grocery store, a pint or two of Talenti Gelato will be the first items on my list!
