Take the Stink Out of Your Towels! Smelly Towel Review!

I received the above products through Sublime Media Connection in exchange for an honest review. In no way was I asked to give a positive review.

There are few things in life I find truly repugnant and dirty laundry is one of them; to be specific, dirty towels are the absolute most disgusting thing EVER.

Alright, so that may be a little bit of an exaggeration but this is not: My older brother's dirty gym towels are truly the most disgusting thing I've ever smelt in my life.

As a cyclist he has to be in tiptop shape and spends every second he isn't working, riding or working up a sweat at the gym.

I'm almost positive that at some point in every person's life, they've had the misfortune of knowing what a man fresh from the gym has the potential to smell like and its not pretty although I do have to give our boys credit, they actually apply deodorant before hitting the treadmills or weights.

As is his routine after a nice sweaty workout, my brother returns home with his (stinky) gym bag stuffed to the top with his grungy workout clothes, leaving it to the laundry-doers of the house to take it from there. Well, let me just tell you, its not a pleasant task and the worst part isn't even the clothes-its the still damp, sweaty towels.

Ugh, we are literally talking about something being so rank it could curdle a gallon of milk..and you know, the smell never really comes out, no matter how many times you wash or amp up the amount of detergent you throw in.

I was hugely pregnant, my toddler was on my last nerve and I was ready to have my baby; I was throwing in another load of rank gym towels when a little bottle on the back on the washer caught my eye.

Eureka! It was like a lightbulb went off in my head.

I had almost forgotten about my bottle of Smelly Towel cleaner but with the sweat smell permeating the towels I had just dumped in the wash, it couldn't have reappeared soon enough.

Following the directions and crossing my fingers, I dumped in a level capful (roughly about a tablespoon) and let it sit for about an 1 1/2 hours (the directions recommend 1-2.) After the hour and a half wait I re-entered the laundry room, turned on the wash cycle and let it go to work. I was skeptical that there was such a miracle on this earth that could remove the stench from our towels but figured it couldn't hurt to wait out the cycle, ya know, just to be sure.

An hour later when I went back in to check on the status of the towels, I entered the laundry room with high hopes but cautiously lifted the washers lid. I tried to tell myself not to get too excited and remind myself of the stench the Smelly Towel cleaner had gone up against.

I grabbed the first soggy towel and expecting to gag, reluctantly inhaled...

It was a miracle I tell you, a miracle! The stench was gone and while the towels didn't smell of flowers, the Smelly Towel cleaner had certainly done its job!

I highly recommend this product to my readers. Since the sweaty towels, I have tried Smelly Towel cleaner on loads of towels that I've forgotten overnight and that have gotten that 'forgotten laundry' smell and its worked the same magic.

There IS a warning against using Smelly Towel Cleaner with new colored towels because of the risk of fading. As with every product, read product directions before using and you'll be all set to go.

Smelly Towel cleaner is also made right here, close to home, in the USA.
