Embark on the Road to Ultimate Geekdom with Fabulous Prints by The Geekerie! Review and #giveaway US 11/28

I can remember very vividly what my bedroom looked like as a kid: clothes strewn from one end to the other, photo albums and book series' stacked high on the shelves, movies in and out of cases, CD's tossed carelessly and empty drink cups/soda cans littering my dresser top. Actually, with the exception of the soda cans the place pretty much looks the same but don't judge too harshly, I share my bedroom space with two tiny minions of chaos otherwise known as my children. I saw you raise your eyebrows when I called those two minions of chaos...I promise you that I'm not the only one who thinks they have earned the title; my Mother for example has appropriately dubbed my youngest Attila. Yeah, that should say it all.

So, back to the present day bedroom of Caitlyn and her minions of chaos: Everything is pretty much the same except my lovely wicker furniture is no longer with us and my cluttered walls that used to be wall to wall posters of the Backstreet Boys, Leonardo DiCaprio and movie memorabilia are now bare. I try to comfort myself with the fact that although they're quite bare they are a lovely shade of sky blue but it's not the same. Fed up with only boring walls to stare at on my slow decent into slumberland I finally decided that although I was a Mom and had small children sharing the space with me it didn't need to mean that I was doomed to accept toddler sized handprints and crayola scribbles as my only source of decor--which was why, when I heard that the Geekerie was going to be joining our team to be featured in the Gift Guide, I was a wee bit ecstatic!

Enjoy The Geekerie crash-course:
"The Geekerie is an online source for print and post art, taking inspiration from all corners of Geekdom. We hope to offer an enjoyable browsing experience with science fiction, fantasy, geek and astronomy designs. As a graphic designer and illustrator, I strive to supply a unique mix of modern, vintage and retro inspired art pieces; extending my love of pop culture to like-minded fans."
I've never made any attempts to disguise my love for Cinematography or for Cult films so when I was given the chance to review 2  of the Geekerie prints in those themes I was beyond geeked out.

Give me the child. Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City to take back the child that was stolen from me, for my will is as strong as yours and my kindgom as great. You have no power over me!"

Many of you might recognize this quote and the symbolic Owl, as the one from the opening scene of the 80's fantasy cult film the Labyrinth where the young protagonist, Sarah, is acting out a passage from her favorite story, dun, dun, dun, the Labyrinth. It shouldn't come as a shock but the Labyrinth is by far one of my favorite movies, ever. The quote is by far my favorite line in the entire movie and speaks a lot for both Sarah's struggles and her triumpth over Jareth in the end..BUT goodness, look at me, I could go on and on about this particular film for forever and that's not the purpose of this review. The purpose of this review is to show you loyal readers how dang awesome The Geekerie is and this Snowy Owl and Bramble with Quote print is just one example.

The second example would be this thought provoking print quote from V for Vendetta spoken by the dedicated radical V who, throughout the film, shows unwavering conviction in his beliefs and goes through whatever lengths necessary to see that the current rule under Chancellor Sutler is abolished.

"People should not be afraid of their Governments. Governments should be afraid of their people."
I know I'm not the only one who thinks this poster and the accompanying quote is one awesome piece. I'm currently on the hunt for a frame that will do it justice and then it'll be in a place of honor above my movie collection.

These prints each measure in at approximately 13x19 inches.

"They are made from Finestra Premium Luster quality photo paper stock and the 10-mil thickness gives it that true photographic feel that I adore. The luster finish has glare-reduction and striking ink saturation qualities. Each print is produced on professional-grade ink-jet printers with Giclee quality pigment inks for stunning depth of color and a unique, quick-dry application. Each poster is rated to neither fade nor discolor for up to 70 years; nearly 100 years under glass!"

These aren't your average tweens room posters, ya'll, they're beautiful works of art to be framed and hung to be the envy of even your most pretentious cinema buffs.
