Christmas, Birthdays, Mothers&Fathers day-For me these types of gift giving occasions have one thing in common: I never know what to gift someone for any of them! I agonize over them all and more often than not end up browsing stores at the very last minute, throwing random 'they-might-like-this' items into my basket before taking a wild guess at the checkout.
One of the ways I've solved this personal dilemma is with Gift Cards; you simply cannot go wrong with handing over a Gift Card to the Birthday boy/girl, to your Father or even to an expectant Mother on the day of her Baby shower. I mean really, if you ask someone and they answered honestly, they'd tell you that they'd prefer a Gift Card over just about anything else so they could pick out something they actually really wanted.
"The infographic from Gowallet below gives a lot of great tips about how you can make gift cards even more useful for the person receiving the gift card AND the person giving it.
For example:
Watch for discounts on gift cards from your favorite retailers and restaurants and think about buying a few. You can often get a big discount by buying them at the same time.
Buy gift cards at the grocery store and earn gas reward points to save as much as $1 a gallon on gas at major stations. Like this deal Safeway has right now that offers you 4X points when you buy gift cards there! http://www.safeway.com/ ShopStores/RewardPoints.page
Got a gift card you didn't use or don't want? You can trade them in or exchange them at sites like CardPool.com http://cardpool.com or sell them at a discount. How awesome is that?
Got a lot of gift cards and can't keep track of them? Use GoWallet.com http://gowallet.com to organize and track your balances, and even get discount offers."
