Admit that Reindeers Are Better Than People and Represent Your Frozen Pride with Mugs by Menagerie Magique! US 12/13

If I had to name one thing about myself that, without fail, raised eyebrows upon confession it would be that I can't/won't drink hot beverages. I didn't drink Chamomile tea during my either of my pregnancies, I don't drink coffee to give myself an extra boost during the day or to jump start my mornings and I've never been able to choke down remedies such as Theraflu or Alkaseltzer. The only exception to this that I've ever found was my once a year cup of Hot Cocoa. On the coldest day of the year my Mama makes a huge pot of the most delicious Hot Cocoa I've ever had, from scratch, and tops it all off with a heaping mound of mini marshmallows. This and only thing is the exception to my no hot drink rule.

This year I was able to drink my homemade Cocoa in an adorable, hand-painted, mug by Menagerie Magique.

"Menagerie Magique was created and is run by myself, Rebecca Kuehner. After graduating college with a degree in Visual Arts, and (shockingly!) having trouble finding a job, I had too much time on my hands and too many art projects I wanted to complete. What started out as a hobby to keep myself busy during a job-less summer, accidentally turned into this small business. I was so pleased to be able to work with Rebecca to include one of her mugs in our Geeky Gift Idea's section of the Gift Guide and was sent one of her hand-painted Reindeers Are Better Than People Mugs for review. In a houseful of Frozen loving toddlers it was impossible for this Mama to avoid the lure of the animated movie that turned my children into Let It Go singing heathens. So, when I saw this particular design in stock over at Menagerie Magique I knew I had to get my hands on one for myself. It was perfect!

I was super impressed when I received my mug. Rebecca's Sven Silhouette was definitely spot on. As someone who has seen Frozen about 3-4 dozen times, literally, with and without my children (I'll admit to watching it online a handful of times without them) I knew at first glance that Sven was perfection. And the quote, c'mon, who wasn't won over by Kristoffs cute serenade among the straw with Sven? I sometimes find myself smiling a big goofy smile when I'm at the kitchen sink and happen to glance at my special mug. In fact I often serenade said dishes while washing them..because let's be honest here, I know every word to the song and once heard it's hard to get out of ones head.

Hand-painted with Water-proof Enamel paint and baked so the paint sets permanently, the Reindeers Are Better Than People measures 4" tall and makes a perfect addition to our coffee cup collection. Did I mention that they're also top-rack dish washer safe for easy cleaning, although Rebecca does recommend hand washing for  longevity.  I can't think of a better gift to give the Geek Extraordinaire in your life this Christmas.
