I was recently given the opportunity to work with a wonderful Etsy shop called Guilty Geeks that has helped transport me back to those fond childhood memories and am pleased to say they've made a wonderful addition to the Gifts for Geeks section of our Holiday Gift Guide.
Check out what Charlotte has to say about her start as owner of her own business, her inspiration and more!
"My name is Charlotte and I have a passion to create. In my life I have always used art as an outlet and Etsy encourages me everyday to see what I can give to the world! I began my jewelry making career a few years ago by bending basic wires and using basic stones to experiment and play. With time I found my favorite materials and created basic designs.
I started by creating my own line of ear cuffs that I like to call my ear bends! I made these pieces to be extremely comfortable, unlike the other ear cuffs that I have worn in the past. I am personally very sensitive to most metals which is why it was so important to create a piece of jewelry that just sits on your ear, and doesn't actually puncture it.
After my ear bends became a hot new Etsy item I started trying to incorporate my other passions in life into my jewelry. This is when The Legend of Zelda inspired jewelry line appeared on my site! The Legend of Zelda is, and always will be, my all time favorite game series. From A Link to the Past, to the newest Skyward Sword, I used my favorite inspirations to create real stones and items from each game. I absolutely love being able to create meaningful items for other game lovers just like me! I hope that my site will continue to succeed and produce meaningful items for everyone!"
I can't tell you how excited I am to tell you about the Heart Container Necklace I was sent to review.
I think it's safe to say that most of my readers can easily recognize where this particular piece originated from but for those of you who haven't placed it yet it's from the Cult Classic, puzzle solving, role playing, action game, The Legend of Zelda. Quite simply it's Link's Heart Life which, as most of you know, increases and decreases throughout the entire game when Link is hurt or finds a Heart Container in many of the hidden spots throughout the game. Charlotte, the creative mind behind Guilty Geeks, has captured the essence of Link's Heart Container perfectly.
Made with quality crystals, and silver plated non-tarnish wire, the Heart Container design is one of the most true to it's origins piece that I've seen in my quest for Zelda Memorabilia. I couldn't quite get the lighting right for my own pictures but take a look at another of the stunning photo's Charlotte was able to capture in this up close angle.
The workmanship on the Heart Piece Container is absolutely lovely and spot on for a replica that hasn't been digitally animated. I can't even imagine how much time and effort is put into the creation of this realistic version of the iconic artifact. It certainly has a place of honor in my jewelry collection, that's for sure.
I was beyond thrilled to be able to work with Charlotte over at Guilty Geeks and if it's possible I'm even more excited to be able to let you in on something special that I've cooked up with the awesome proprietress: One of you lucky winners is going to have the chance to win another jaw droppingly realistic gift from her shop.
